Zhiyu Zhang is a young cellist from Shanghai who began her studies with Prof. Reinhard Latzko at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at the age of 14. At 16, she started her diploma studies. Since 2023, she has been studying with Prof. Danjulo Ishizaka at the Berlin University of the Arts, where she completed her bachelor's degree in 2024. She is now continuing her diploma studies in Vienna.
Through participation in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as David Geringas, Mischa Maisky, Arto Noras, and Miklós Perényi, she has refined her skills and has performed as a soloist with major orchestras such as the Shanghai Philharmonic and the Hamburger Camerata. Her musical career has already taken her to prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, the Shanghai Concert Hall, as well as the Vienna Konzerthaus and Musikverein.
