The German/Spanish violinist Sara Schlumberger - Ruiz, born 2001 in Stuttgart, started to play the violin at the age of four, growing into a family of musicians. Her first classes of Violin were orientated on the method of renowned Violinist and Pedagogue Shinichi Suzuki at the music school, Stuttgart. After four Years she moved in 2009 into the class of Ulrike Abdank and three years later she entered under the guidance of her teacher the “Gifted and preparatory class” (STUVO) where she was mentored and supported till 2017 when she entered as a Young student the class of Prof. Anke Dill at the “Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart”.
These 8 Years (2009-2017) were the fundamental period of her following music career including chamber music, solo performances, piano playing, singing (Mädchenkantorei Stuttgart) and orchestra playing for example the Youth Chamber orchestra and the national Youth orchestra of Germany. Many concert tours in different formations, also outside of Germany, like Japan, Australia and Italy, represent a great enrichment for her musical development.
Starting her bachelor at HMDK Stuttgart with Prof. Anke Dill, she is continuing her studies in the class of Nora Chastain at the “University of Arts Berlin” since October 2022 ( with Assistance of Marlene Ito, principal leader of second violins Berliner Philharmonics).
Sara has been awarded with various firs, second and special prices in the Category Solo and chamber music at “Jugend musiziert”, at competitions of the “German Music Artists Association”, the “Kreissparkasse Waiblingen”, the international Alfred - Csammer - Competition and the 25. International Summer academy, Radolfzell. 2024 she wasawarded the special price of Gewa at the Carl-Flesch Akademie.
She has been scholarship holder of many foundations, but most important she entered in 2021 the artist founding of the foundation “Cusanuswerk” and Yehudi - Menuhin “Live Music Now”.
Impulses Prof. Thomas Füri, Prof. Ingolf Turban, Prof. Yair and Eyal Kless, Adelina Oprean, Marianne Piketty and Nora Chastain represent an important part of her musical development.
Sara has been guest at various important events and festivals like the European cultural forum, the new Castle Stuttgart, Castle Mainau, Castle Liebenau, “Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele”, “Festival Resonanzräume Stuttgart”and in concerts of the Mozart society Stuttgart, as a soloist and in different chamber music formations with personalities like Prof. Anke Dill, Prof. Florian Wiek, Prof. Stefan Fehlandt und Prof.Gunther Teuffel, Prof. Justus Grimm and Moritz Winkelmann.
As a soloist she convinced already at young age since her debut 2014 with the Paulus Orchestra Stuttgart. She played in halls like the Mozart and Beethoven hall at Liederhalle Stuttgart, Kurhaus Baden-Baden as well as on tours through Japan, Italy and Australia.
The orchestras she worked with were among others the Young Youth Orchestra Stuttgart, Capella Tübingen, the Southwest Philharmonics Konstanz, the Christopherus Symphonie Orchestra Stuttgart and the Chamber Orchestra Metzingen.
Sara Schlumberger-Ruiz plays a violin by “Jean Baptiste Vuillaume 1874” which is generously made available by the Baden-Württemberg State Collection of String Instruments.
