Sofia Manvati has been described by Salvatore Accardo as a violinist with a warm, powerful and fascinating sound, impeccable technique and pure musicality. Chosen as Artist in Residence for Società di Concerti di Milano, for 2022/2023, she has held numerous recitals both as a soloist and chamber musician in Italy and abroad, specialising particularly in violin and piano reperoire with pianist Giorgio Lazzari. She has held recitals for numerous festivals, such as “Serate Musicali di Milano”, “Serate Musicali di Trieste”, “Musica Insieme Bologna”, “Amici della Musica di Firenze”, “Amici della Musica di Padova”, “Chigiana Summer Festival”, “Festival Pianistico Bergamo e Brescia”, “Festival Resonance in Belgium”, “Schiermonnikoog Festival”, “Imuse Festival”, “W. Walton Trust” in Ischia, “Stagione da Camera at Parco della Musica Santa Cecilia di Roma”, “Amici di Verdi” in Busseto, “Stagione del Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona”, “European Parliament Lunch Concerts” in Brussels, among others. She has also played the Brandenburg Concerto n. 3 by J. S. Bach with Steven Issrerlis, in a collaboration between Stauffer Center for Strings and EUYO. Sofia Manvati is often called on by the G. Arvedi Auditorium in Cremona to play on historical instruments from the Museo del Violino; she has performed on the Stradivari Vesuvius, the Cremonese (ex-Joachim) and the Clesbee. She graduated with honors and special mention earning both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Claudio Monteverdi in Cremona, under the tuition of Professor Laura Gorna. She also attends the advanced training courses at the “Accademia Stauffer” in Cremona and at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena, with Salvatore Accardo. Currently, she is attending a Postgraduate course at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels with the violinist and professor Philippe Graffin. She has had violin and chamber music instruction with teachers such as Zachar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Mariana Sirbu, Anton Sorokov, Pavel Vernikov, Sophia Jaffe, Marc Bouchkov, Massimo Quarta, Mario Brunello, Bruno Canino, Maria Grazia Bellocchio, and Filippo Gorini. In addition, she has had improvisation classes with cellist Abel Selaocoe, Giovanni Sollima, and Composer Caroline Shaw. She is also a scholarship holder from the “Internationale Musikakademie in Liechtenstein". Semi-finalist at Szymanowsky Violin Competition and prize winner of numerous national and international competitions, such as “Premio Guglielmo” competition, special prize for the best interpretation of A. Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the Tibor Junior International Competition in Sion, the first prizes at the City of Moncalieri Competition, and the City of Giussano International Competition. She is the winner of the first edition of the Lombardia è Musica competition, performing at the prestigious Sala Verdi in Milan.
