Violist JungAhn Shin, born in South Korea in 1999, began playing the violin at the age of four and switched to the viola in 2011. In 2012, she was accepted into the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts precollege program with Ji Hye Hong. Two years later, as a young student, she moved to Tabea Zimmermann at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin, where she has been continuing her bachelor's studies since 2017.
JungAhn Shin received chamber music impulses from teachers such as Eberhard Feltz, Yura Lee and Hariolf Schlichtig at the International Summer Academy for Chamber Music Lower Saxony and in the chamber music workshop With Music - Together at the Kronberg Academy. She also attended numerous renowned master classes such as the Carl Flesch Academy, where she was taught by Hartmut Rohde.
She was awarded a special prize at the “Four Seasons Riehen” festival. JungAhn Shin performed as a soloist, among others. with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jinju Philharmonic Orchestra and the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra.
