Andrew Samarasekara is currently attending the Yale University earning his Master's degree in music. Previously he studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and at the Yehudi Menuhin School. He's been given an Yale School of Music Stephen and Denise Adams Scholarship and Fellowship in 2021.
Prize winner in many international competitions such as: 2023 Fanny Mendelssohn International Competition - 1st prize; 2021 Salzburg International Music Competition – 1st Prize; 2019 Gisborne International Music Competition – J.S.Bach Prize; 2015 Summit Festival 'Mary Smart' Concerto Competition – 2nd Prize; 2014 Eastbourne Young Soloist Competition – St. Cecillia Bequest Prize; 2012 Royal College of Music Ester Coleman Prize; 2012 Royal College of Music Mary Gotch Prize; 2012 Royal College of Music May Edwards Memorial Prize.
He performed with several orchestras including Orchestra Cameristi della Scala (Vivaldi Concerto for 3 Violins with Shlomo Mintz), Dorking Philharmonic, Epsom Philarhmonic, Orchestra ‘Ex-Trinitate’, Ipswich Symphony.
