Alexandra Cooreman started playing the violin at the age of 5 and performed on the stage at the age of 6.
As an exceptional young talent, she was admitted in 2013 to the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, where she studied with Augustin Dumay and Tatiana Samouil. Alexandra continued her musical education at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid with Anna Chumachenco and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne with Michaela Martin.
The Belgian-Polish violinist has won first prizes in many competitions as the Kocian Violin Competition, the Breughel Competition and the Grumiaux International Competition.
From a very young age, Alexandra has played solo with various orchestras such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Saint Petersburg, the Gulbenkian Orchestra Lisbon, the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, the Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, the European Philharmonia and the Flemish Chamber Philharmonic. In addition, she has followed masterclasses with world-famous musicians such as Augustin Dumay, Yuri Bashmet, Giuliano Carmignola, Pavel Vernikov, Jean-Claude Vanden Eyden, Michaela Martin, Catherine Cho, Hye-Jin Kim, Ida Kavafian and Ani Kavafian.
Alexandra is currently studying at the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where she is trained by Professor Ida Kavafian.
